Frequently Asked Questions
I finished my course, how long does the certification process take?
We are one of only a few training providers that have a quick turnaround time for certification.
After course completion it takes 2 weeks to be Internally Verified by us at LSoPT. We can then claim for your certificate from Active IQ which takes them 4-6 weeks to process.
Immediately after course completion you will receive a course completion letter and completion certificate. This can be used to gain employment until your official certificates arrive from Active IQ.
Is there any order of assessments I need to complete the course in?
Each course includes a LAP (Learner Achievement Portfolio, Theory Assessments and/or Practical Assessment. You may complete these in any order however all elements must be completed to be certificated.
Once I am a qualified PT what is the next step so I can train clients?
You will need to hold a valid Level 2 Emergency First Aid qualification and Public Liability Insurance. We can help organise your First Aid course and facilitate your insurance set up with REPs or Insure4Sport.
What is the time limit to complete an Online Learning or Flexible eLearning course?
We are one of only a few training providers that provide indefinite open courses. This means there is no time limit to complete a course once enrolled.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes absolutely. After your purchase you will receive a Welcome Letter, Application Form, Enrolment Information and Terms and Conditions. In the T&Cs, we have our 7 day refund policy where you can request a refund within 7 days of purchase if you have not yet started the course.
What happens if I don’t pass an assessment?
We support you through your studies to give you the best chance to pass. However, in the case you don’t pass the first time, you can resit the assessment at no extra cost. There is no limit to the number of attempts.
Difference between the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and the Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing & Personal Training:
The Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training is for those that already hold a valid Fitness/Gym Instructor Level 2 qualification. In order to be a Personal Trainer you MUST have completed this. If you haven’t, we offer the Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing & Personal Training which includes both the Gym Instructing Level 2 and Personal Training Level 3 courses.
Do you offer payment instalment options?
Yes. We now provide STUDY NOW PAY LATER 0% interest payment options (deposit required). This can be accessed on the Book Online page. Click here for more information
What methods of payment do you provide?
We provide online payments via the bookings page. We can also issue you with an online invoice with a clickable link to complete the payment. The invoice will also have LSoPT bank account details should you wish to submit a bank transfer payment instead. We can also take payments over the phone or at our exams office in London.
Who are the Awarding Organisation?
Active IQ are the Awarding Organisation for all of our qualifications. Active IQ are the organisation that provide the certification after you have completed a course with us. They currently have over 650 centres across the UK. As an official Active IQ training centre, our courses are based on their materials and course syllabus.
Are your courses approved and recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs)?
Yes. We have undergone an thorough approval process that requires us to uphold the highest standards of teaching and learner support. REPs recognition is an essential part of employment requirements when applying for job roles as a fitness instructor and/or personal trainer. REPs is also part of EREPs (Europe), and ICREPs (International), meaning your qualification is valid abroad with countries that are part of the REPs standards.
